Heavy On The Cheese, Please

Okay, so I've got a question to ask: Who wants to rock? Hopefully you all answered yes or at least something close to that. My wife and I were watching VH1 Classic's Metal Mania this past weekend and caught a rare treat: The Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Who is Vinnie Vincent, you ask? Well, he played with KISS for a cup of coffee after they fired Ace Frehley. After he was let go he started his own band. After that band dissolved, His singer and bass player would go on to form Slaughter and sell a few million records. Don't know what happened to Vinnie Vincent after that but I'm sure he's doing okay. Anyway, this is the video we saw and, my God, is it amazing.

Breaking Kayfabe

In a shocking upset in real wrestling Iowa's Brent Metcalf who had won 69 straight matches was defeated by North Carolina State's Darrion Caldwell. In the closing seconds of the match Caldwell was doing a victory lap cartwheel but Metcalf would have none of it.

Trail of Dead show review...I want to bathe in your addiction?

Went to a show last monday night at Slims in da city. Saw Midnight Masses, Funeral Party and the main event ...And you will knows by the trail of dead. Yeah what a name for a band huh. As soon as i had my beer in hand Midnight Masses started the show with the song heaven. It starts as a drum circle a cappella thing (Its on their myspace page)

I dont want to throw this band under the bus but with lyrics like "I want to bathe in your addiction" (did I hear that right? if it was Gwen Stefani's bath water maybe) it wasnt doing it for me. They have a good sound and Thumbs Down said they would make a great insturmental band. Maybe I wasnt in the mood for that type rock or i'm just jaded but you make the call. Next up was Funeral Party. This band really were a change of pace to Midnight Masses. They brought alot of energy. I think I would enjoy this band more if I had just heard them through speakers instead of seeing them live. The vibe they threw off was very LA whatever that means right. Thumbs down said they would be right at home on a WB, 90210 teen show soundtrack. Even so i went to their myspace page and rocked out for a while to their tunes and looked for their album at street light. So i guess i liked them even if some of lyrics are hammy. If you like the Kooks but with more of a American edge (dont ask me going out on a limb on this) you might like this band. Here is the stand out song from their set and as the lead singer said "its a song about a girl"

After a short wait out came 6? maybe 7 members of Trail of Dead. You know they got 2 drummers. My ears are still ringing mind you. What can I say. I have been wanting to see this band live for days. This band is all over the place. They can rock out but also change it up and hit you with some melodies. A song like that that I had not heard because I didnt have the new album was Fields of Coal seen here

It was great seeing them live and I got to hear all the hits like Relative Ways, Will you smile again, and Another morning stoner. Trail of Dead put on a hell of a show and even had two encores that I am sure my ears will be paying for, for years to come, but well worth it. I will leave you with how the Trail of Dead show started by someone covering Trail of Dead's song "Invocation".

It's Ozzy Monday!!

When I was a little kid, Ozzy Osbourne scared the piss outta me. Now days it scares me to see what he's become. Regardless, there's a reason people give a shit about him. First he was in BLACK FUCKING SABBATH!! Also, his solo work. I prefer the cheesy 80's stuff, much like I do with KISS. Here's a few of my favorite Ozzy videos.

Fast food review....

Click on title of post to see tasty food reviews...Ever wonder if those new foods at those fast food joints are any good? Well me too. To make things easier Buddah will help with his visage to rate the foods like the hat guy in the San Francisco Chronicle does for movies. If their is any god who knows food I would think its buddha.
The lowest rating gets a skinny malnuourished deitey. He gots his hand up saying no thank you i would rather eat my arm.

A variation on the first but ate a bit more so became giant but wouldnt go for seconds.

Buddha liked it, go for it.

That was yummy in my tummy!!!

Damn that was good!! Hey Jesus you got to try this...

Carl's Jr has a new item on their menu the crispy burritos. The size of these burritos are deceiving. They are kinda of small but very filling. Now I have a soft spot for crispy burritos since it was a staple I had at Kmart back in the day, and these burritos are a good recreation of those heat lamped lumps of lard. They are like the old Carrows chimichangas too if anyone remember the sampler platter they had. That may not sound like a recomendation but these little burritos are damn good. (Didnt try the guacomole dip so no comment.)

Next up is the Wienerschnitzel Polish Sausage. It was damn good. Not to spicy or to messy. The deli mustard, grilled onions and peppers make it a stand out in the hot dog fast food world. Its was filling and just as good as anything you might find at a ball game. At 3 bucks its a little steep for wienerdog but worth it. Best part it sat in my stomach just fine. A welcome new fast food treat.

Another Carl's Jr product. Its the Steak Sandwich. Dont have much good to say about it. It would seem the used real steak which is good but steak doesnt cook well fast. Saw the cook grabbing the steak out of the freezer and minutes later it was on my tray. It was tough but tastey but had a microwaved feel to it. To much mayo didnt make it any better but the roll was a nice touch. The steak sandwich came off as interesting. Not a real steak sandwich you would find a at a resteraunt like Bennagins but a nice try.
