Bad movies...Are you eating it, or is it eating you?

Ever see a movie so bad its good? Here is a old 80's horror movie that probably doesnt hold up but scared and made me laugh as a kid, The STUFF!

It used to be a movie staple like Rock and Roll High school on KBHK channel 44 out here in the bay area. The plot was simple, this ice cream turned people into a zombies but the special effects were pretty good for the time. Heres a freaky scene from said movie.
Now why am i putting this up? Mostly for the movie poster which totally rocks and the nostalgia. Would I sit down and watch this movie again? Probably not but why would I put this picture up to?

Mostly putting this picture up because I couldnt find the punchline to the joke "What did the man who jumped off the building say half way down?".

Hey Remember This: Circus Magazine

So after my Metal Edge post awhile back, I thought I would continue on with more great rock magazines of yesteryear. And today as you can tell we're gonna talk about Circus magazine.


Circus magazine started in 1966 as a music and pop culture rag. They would cover all the hot music of the time. Couldn't tell you all they covered because it's just a little bit before my time. Needless to say, 'm sure it was riveting.

Circus would continue throughout the 190's telling you all about David Bowie and Joni Mitchell and even did a cover feature on the cast of Saturday Night Live.



Of course it wasn't until the 1980's where I would be introduced to Circus. My dad used to manage a grocery store when I was a lad and he would bring home all the old rock magazines for me, and the teen mags for my sister. So she got her fill of Ricky Schroeder and Duran Duran and I got my fill of Motley Crue and Dokken.

Circus didn't have the typical band photos you would usually see in other magazines. Most of the pictures they had were live shots, which seemed to set them apart a little. Also it felt as if they were doing real in depth reporting, even though they really weren't. I mean how in depth could you be in a story about David Lee Roth, you know?

Somehow through all the music trends that came and went from the 80's to the 90's, Circus stayed alive. Through hair metal, grunge, alternative, nu-metal and everything in between, Circus stormed on.

Sadly in 2006, Circus shut its doors. Honestly I couldn't believe it was around that long. I remember being shocked when I would occasionally see it on the shelf. It was a good magazine, and a fun part of my childhood. Raise your glass to Circus.

Yup its Kurt's baby daughter all grown up at the movie twilight premiere(dont axe how i found the pic, wish i hadnt). Like a web site that had the pic said "doesnt it make you feel old seeing her all grown up?". The Internet is a weird place was going to spread some things I read about her but wtf...i dont care...let em be, let the right one in, which is the name of a foreign vampire movie speaking of vampire movies

but what hell if i ever see it but for my first morrissey reference here is "let the right one slip in", no nirvana song today...

cartoon deaths...its almost over now

One of the highest body counts in cartoon history and it will be on this thanksgiving on NBC. Its the Incredibles!

Not to be downer, it was a great movie but it just had a humongous death count; what you dont believe me...damn things'll never change well here is the body count, I aint going to go through all the names but suffice it to say either the big villain's robot killed most of them and the rest died because their cape got caught in something and the got sucked into something and died.
















































































































I have reached the bottom in more ways than just posting its like a zito start every time i post.
But if you want cartoon death how bout Sam Peckinpah's movie the wild bunch. the final shootout is the mother of all cartoony deaths.

Gobble Gobble, Shake It Shake It

Well, it's almost that time again. Time to belly up to the table and eat as much food as humanly possible. And not only that, but watch some crappy football games. Sure, the Dallas Cowboys are playing my Seattle Seahawks in what should be total blowout. No, I have no faith in my team this year. But it was only a few years ago when they were in the playoffs together. Here's a little clip to honor the Dallas Cowboys


Damn, I could watch that all day.
But the Cowboys aren't the only team to watch on turkey day. You can also catch the winless Detroit Lions, the lovable losers of the NFL. Even though they suck, they usually give you a game on Thanksgiving. However, against Tennessee this year, I don't think that will happen. But anyway, here's my favorite Lions moment this year. Watch as quarterback Dan Orlovsky scores for the other team. Tremendous.

Installment two!!!
This is going to be a regular attraction on ccl was my thought when i started with the the dipper from the santa Cruz beach boardwalk ride. So here is another installment of places you might want to be instead of where you are also known as time waster deluxe. Now this aint a ride and its at a place that dont get as much love as other amusement parks but it holds a place in the back of my wrecked thalamus. Its the Knott's Berry Farm's Wild West Stunt show. Yeah you dont know nothing about it? thats fine it's all right, it's o.k.k. It's coming together in relative ways yeah" Make a toast its good to be american lower case fur sure faux.. .. Like alot of stuff in life; when you have orbited the sun one too many times the luster of life begins to wane, but when i didnt know better i bought into the lies and it made it so much better. In the video which is ten minutes long and not as good as being there so it makes me wonder whats the point of putting it up) ))punction is a waste of time right?(( In the video they have edited the best parts, the hook and punchline but a spoiler is ahead. The thing i loved about the stunt show is it was very wrestling like. Like you know so like it had this like voulunteer like he was like called up to help the like you know like the real actors....like. Anywho like the joke was he was on his honeymoon from florida. The punchline was he worked at Disneyworld, get it. So the show has a heel and a face working the crowd with the big ending, which has changed. Originally the ending was as full on swanton but because a stunt man took a bad fall and broke his back its just a plain fall now. Yeah sure i am lil off but who cares its not like...what fire in the aisles ok got to go...

Wrestling Commercials

I always heard about The Four Horsemen having their own brand of vitamins back in the day, but I never knew if it was true or not. Well, now we have proof. This is the actual commercial for them

So i was bored at work and kept searching for more wrestling commercials. And what did I find?

How about The American Dream Dusty Rhodes shilling some soda called Mello Yello

I've never heard of this soda but I'd be leary to try anything Dusty recomends. He wasn't exactly the picture of good health.
Want more, how about The Dingo Warrior for Westway Ford.

He would of course go on to become The Ultimate Warrior but this was when he was in Texas I believe. He actually did more of these. Scary thought.
Now lets end this madness with a classic: The WWF action figure spots. These were sort of like the Micro Machine ads, I guess cause Roddy Piper talked so damn fast.

It's Random Video Night Again, Bitches!

It's time once again for everyone's favorite game: Do You Remember This Song? Okay so I'm at work and I'm pretty bored so here we go.

Let's start things off with New York's Scatterbrain. These guys only released two records but they definitley made an impression on me. I used to love this song as a kid. Here's "Don't Call Me Dude"

And next up is another New York band called CIV. These guys were products of the NY Hardcore scene. You probably know this song "Can't Wait One Minute More" from a commercial a few years back. But this was actually a big song at the time, mainly because of the video i think.

Now, lets bring this thing back to the west side (cause you and I know it's the best side). The Bay Area's own Death Angel with their track "Bored". I think this is the one they'll always be remembered for. It's a classic for sure.

So I just saw the news on Hiphopdx.com that Michigan rapper MC Breed passed away at the young age of 36. Damn, that's really young! Anyway, here's his classic jam, "Aint No Future In Your Frontin". This is one of those songs that has never gotten old. It's always sounded great. R.I.P MC Breed.

It's Finally Here

Well, it's finally here. The trailer for The Wrestler has been released. This thing looks awesome. Just from the trailer I can see why people are going crazy for Mickey Rourke. And come on you also get Marisa Tomei. She's an Oscar winner (couldn't find the clip from Seinfeld, sorry). Check it out:
